Spruce Creek is in Central Pennsylvania. Fishing is on about a
mile and a half of beautiful limestone private water. Lots of
fish, many in
the 4 to 6 pound range. In 2003, everyone caught at least one
18"+ trout! These three day trips are all inclusive, except
for
license and your own equipment.
Basically 48 hours on stream, all catch and release. The
package includes lodging, rod fees, a complementary fly box with a
small selection of flies (expected for immediate use), limited
guiding, and all meals from lunch on day of arrival to lunch on
departure day. Meals include beer and wine. You
will not be disappointed!
Group size in usually limited to four or five rods only. The
cottage is the same facility used by President Jimmy Carter, who
fishes here quite regularly. There is a beautiful stone fireplace,
cable television, and relaxing chairs. Located right on the water,
you can hear the stream all night!
Similar trips are also available to other catch and release
streams within two or three hours of Washington, DC -- the
Gunpowder, Hunting Creek, Jackson River, Savage River, Yellow
Breeches, and Falling Springs.
THE FISHING: Dries and nymphs. Egg patterns in the fall.
