Cholila, Argentina - Patagonia
Carrileufu Valley Lodge, Patagonia Fishing Hosts
Fly Fishing Trip or Lodge Details:
Patagonia Fishing Hosts are based in the small town of Cholila, located
in the Chubut Province of central Patagonia, the southernmost part of
Argentina, and operate out of the convenient and comfortable Carrileufu
Valley Lodge. From Cholila you quickly access the best lakes and rivers
for fly-fishing, in areas where you will see lots of fish and
wildlife, but very few people besides your fishing group.
Cholila has a romantic history. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
escaped the U.S. law enforcement by living here for years in the
early 1900s - until their ill-gotten money started running low and they
had to return to "work," robbing more banks.
THE FISHING: Big browns and rainbows, with brook trout and landlocked
Atlantic salmon also available. Wading and drift boat fishing from large
rubber rafts.
A regular package includes 6 fishing days and 7 nights in the Lodge;
sharing a room with another fisherman, and sharing a guide.
Fishing locations are usually based on water levels, weather and
fishing activity, but a typical week would be a day on the Rivadavia,
a day on the Carrileufu, a float trip on the Chubut for 3 days, and
one day on the Menendez Lake. This is just a sample - different combinations,
based on the angler, fishing and time of the year are always available.

This is indeed a very special place, with very special people. Together
they gave me one of the most rewarding fishing experiences of my life …
I leave today with the feeling that I have new friends, special friends that
I will be talking about for a very long time. ~~ Ron Cordes
